Pseudo-Justinian Code
The Pseudo-Justinian Code is a collection of ancient Roman laws that resemble, but are not actually part of, the original Justinian Code compiled under Emperor Justinian I. Created in the 11th or 12th century, it aims to organize and summarize Roman legal principles. While it draws heavily from Justinian’s work, it is considered a later, unofficial compilation and not part of the authentic medieval or Byzantine legal texts. Its purpose was to preserve Roman legal ideas and make them accessible for scholars and legal practitioners of that time.
