PSA Test

A PSA test measures the level of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in your blood, a protein produced by the prostate gland. Elevated PSA levels can indicate prostate issues, such as benign enlargement, inflammation, or cancer. The test is used primarily to screen for prostate cancer and monitor treatment responses. However, since elevated PSA doesn't always mean cancer, results are interpreted alongside other tests and factors. It's a useful tool for early detection but should be part of a comprehensive evaluation by a healthcare professional to determine the next steps.
