Ps.-Dionysius the Areopagite
Pseudo-Dionysius the Areopagite is the name given to an influential Christian thinker from the late 5th or early 6th century, whose writings on divine mysteries and hierarchies of angels and saints have shaped Christian theology. Although originally believed to be the Apostle Paul’s Athenian convert, modern scholars recognize that "Pseudo-Dionysius" was likely an anonymous scholar. His works emphasize the transcendence of God, the importance of spiritual ascent, and the organization of heavenly realities. His ideas have been highly influential in medieval theology and mysticism, inspiring both religious devotion and philosophical exploration of the divine.
