Proximal Ulnar Nerve Decompression
Proximal ulnar nerve decompression is a surgical procedure to relieve pressure on the ulnar nerve near the elbow. The ulnar nerve runs from the neck down the arm and into the hand, providing sensation and movement to parts of your hand. Sometimes, the nerve gets compressed or pinched at the elbow, leading to numbness, tingling, or weakness. During the procedure, the doctor makes a small incision, carefully frees the nerve from surrounding tissues or any nearby structures pressing on it, and may remove any bony or soft tissue obstructions. This helps restore normal nerve function and alleviates symptoms.
