Proxima b
Proxima b is an exoplanet orbiting Proxima Centauri, the closest known star to our Sun, about 4.24 light-years away. It has a similar size to Earth and orbits within its star's habitable zone, where conditions might allow liquid water to exist. However, Proxima Centauri is a small, active red dwarf star that emits intense stellar flares, which could affect the planet’s atmosphere and potential habitability. While it's an exciting candidate for studying nearby worlds, we don't yet know if Proxima b is actually capable of supporting life.
