Protein Expression

Protein expression is the biological process through which cells produce proteins based on the instructions encoded in DNA. It involves two main steps: transcription, where a specific segment of DNA is copied into messenger RNA (mRNA), and translation, where the mRNA is read by cellular machinery to assemble amino acids into a functional protein. Proteins are essential for vital functions like building tissues, enzymes facilitating chemical reactions, and signaling within and between cells. The level of protein expression can vary, influencing cell function and response to the environment.
