Protectorate Agreement
A Protectorate Agreement is a formal arrangement where a stronger country offers protection and guidance to a weaker territory or nation. In this agreement, the weaker country retains some internal control but relies on the stronger nation for defense, foreign relations, or security. Essentially, it’s a partnership where one nation safeguards the other's interests, often to maintain stability or influence in the region, while the protected territory may still manage local affairs under certain agreed terms. Such arrangements were common during colonial and imperial periods to extend influence without full colonization.
