Protect Kahoʻolawe Ohana

Protect Kahoʻolawe Ohana is a community-based organization dedicated to the restoration and preservation of Kahoʻolawe, the smallest of the Hawaiian Islands. Historically used as a bombing range by the U.S. military, the island faced environmental damage and cultural neglect. The organization works to remove unexploded ordnance, restore native ecosystems, and honor the spiritual and cultural significance of Kahoʻolawe to Native Hawaiians. Through education, advocacy, and direct action, they aim to protect the island's natural resources and ensure its respectful return to the Hawaiian people.
