Proporzsystem (Proportional Representation System)

A Proporzsystem, or proportional representation system, is a method of electing representatives where the number of seats a party wins directly reflects its share of the total votes. If a party gets 30% of the votes, it should receive about 30% of the seats. This system helps ensure that diverse opinions and groups are fairly represented in government, avoiding overrepresentation of larger parties and giving smaller parties a better chance to be heard. It contrasts with winner-takes-all systems, where only the largest vote-getter in each district gains representation.
