Propellants

Propellants are substances that produce the necessary force to propel or move objects, often through combustion or expansion. In rockets, they are fuel and oxidizer combined to generate high-pressure gases that exit a nozzle, creating thrust according to Newton’s third law. In aerosol cans or spray devices, propellants are compressed or liquefied gases that push the product out when activated. They are carefully chosen to ensure safety, stability, and efficiency, and can be gases, liquids, or solids depending on the application. Proper selection and handling of propellants are critical for effective and safe operation of propulsion systems.
