Propaganda Model

The Propaganda Model explains how mainstream media can serve the interests of powerful groups and corporations. It suggests that media outlets often filter information through five filters: ownership, advertising, sourcing, flak (criticisms), and fear. These filters influence which stories are highlighted, how they're presented, and which viewpoints are marginalized, shaping public perception to align with elite interests. Essentially, it reveals that media content is not always an unbiased reflection of the truth, but is subtly shaped by economic and political pressures.
