Proof of History consensus mechanism

Proof of History (PoH) is a method used to order events in a blockchain efficiently. It uses a cryptographic technique called a verifiable delay function to generate a unique, time-ordered record of events. This creates a historical clock that proves when transactions occurred without needing separate timestamps or synchronized clocks. By embedding this proof into the blockchain, PoH allows validators to quickly confirm that transactions happened in the correct order, improving speed and scalability while maintaining security. Essentially, it timestamps events cryptographically, streamlining consensus and ensuring an accurate, tamper-proof history.
