Proliferation Security Initiative (PSI)
The Proliferation Security Initiative (PSI) is an international effort launched in 2003 aimed at preventing the spread of weapons of mass destruction (WMD), including nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons. It involves a coalition of countries working together to intercept illicit shipments and halt the transfer of materials and technology that could be used to develop such weapons. PSI encourages cooperation among nations to share information, conduct joint operations, and strengthen legal frameworks to enhance global security and prevent rogue states or terrorist groups from acquiring dangerous weapons.
