Proles

Proles, short for proletariat, are the working-class segment of society, often comprising laborers and those in manual or unskilled jobs. In George Orwell's "1984," they represent the large, less-controlled majority who have limited privileges and are kept uneducated and distracted, making them less likely to challenge the ruling regime. While they don’t hold political power, their sheer numbers make them a potential force for change. In broader terms, proles are the everyday people who do essential work but often have less access to influence or resources compared to elites.
