Projective Testing

Projective testing is a psychological assessment method where individuals respond to ambiguous stimuli, like inkblots or pictures, to reveal their subconscious thoughts, feelings, and personality traits. The idea is that people project their inner experiences onto these stimuli, providing insights that might not be easily accessible through direct questions. These tests are used by clinicians to gather information about a person’s emotional functioning, underlying conflicts, or personality dynamics, helping inform diagnosis and treatment planning.
