Project Vesta

Project Vesta is an initiative that aims to capture carbon dioxide (CO₂) from the atmosphere and store it safely underground by turning it into stable mineral rock through natural chemical reactions. This process, called mineral carbonation, effectively removes greenhouse gases responsible for climate change. The project involves injecting CO₂ into volcanic basalt rock formations, where it reacts over time to form solid minerals, permanently sequestering the carbon. Vesta's approach offers a scalable, cost-effective, and durable solution to reduce atmospheric CO₂ levels and combat global warming.
