Project Oxygen
Project Oxygen was Google's initiative to identify the key qualities that make effective managers. Through extensive data analysis and employee feedback, the project pinpointed behaviors such as coaching, empowering teams, communicating effectively, and being a good problem-solver as essential. The goal was to improve management practices across the company by emphasizing these attributes, ultimately leading to higher employee satisfaction and better organizational performance. In essence, Project Oxygen aimed to define what good managers do and how they can develop those skills based on real-world evidence.
