Project for the New American Century

The Project for the New American Century (PNAC) was a think tank founded in 1997 that emphasized strengthening U.S. military power and promoting democratic values worldwide. It believed America should actively lead global affairs, especially through maintaining a strong military presence. Critics argue that PNAC aimed to expand American influence, potentially influencing policies leading to interventions like the Iraq War. Although influential in shaping some post-2000 U.S. foreign policy debates, PNAC disbanded in 2006, and its ideas continue to be discussed regarding U.S. strategic interests and international actions.
