Progenitor cells
Progenitor cells are specialized cells in the body that have the ability to develop into specific types of cells within a particular tissue or organ. They are more developed than stem cells but still retain the capacity to produce a limited range of cell types relevant to their tissue. For example, in the bone marrow, progenitor cells can differentiate into various blood cells. These cells are essential for growth, repair, and maintaining healthy tissue function, acting as a key link between stem cells and fully specialized, mature cells.
