Professional Development School

A Professional Development School (PDS) is a collaborative partnership between universities and K-12 schools, designed to improve education for students and develop future teachers. In this model, university students training to become teachers work directly in real classrooms alongside experienced teachers, gaining hands-on experience. Simultaneously, university faculty collaborate with school staff to observe, reflect, and refine teaching practices. This partnership fosters professional growth, enhances student learning outcomes, and bridges the gap between theory and practice, creating a supportive environment for ongoing development for both teachers-in-training and veteran educators.
