Procyon
Procyon, also known as Alpha Canis Minoris, is a bright star located in the constellation Canis Minor. It’s part of a binary system, meaning it has a close companion star, and is one of the closest stars to Earth at about 11.5 light-years away. Procyon is actually a white main-sequence star, similar to our Sun but hotter and more luminous, with a small, dense companion called a white dwarf. Its brightness and proximity make it an important object of study for astronomers interested in stellar evolution and binary star systems.
