Prochaska's Transtheoretical Model
Prochaska's Transtheoretical Model describes how people change behaviors in stages: precontemplation (not considering change), contemplation (thinking about change), preparation (getting ready), action (making changes), and maintenance (sustaining the change). It recognizes that behavior change is a process, not a one-time event, and varies for each individual. The model helps identify where someone is in this journey and guides appropriate support to progress through these stages successfully.
