Process Capability Index

The Process Capability Index (Cpk) measures how well a manufacturing process produces items within specified limits. It compares the natural variability of the process to the allowed tolerance range. A higher Cpk indicates the process consistently produces products close to the target without many defects, whereas a lower Cpk suggests more variation and potential quality issues. Essentially, it helps determine if a process is capable of delivering products that meet quality standards reliably, guiding improvements to reduce variation and improve consistency.
