PRK (Photorefractive Keratectomy)

PRK (Photorefractive Keratectomy) is a laser eye surgery to correct vision issues like nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism. The procedure involves removing the outer layer of the cornea (the clear front surface of the eye) and then shaping the underlying tissue with a laser to improve how light enters the eye. The outer layer naturally regenerates over time. PRK is an alternative to LASIK, especially for those with thin or irregular corneas. It typically results in improved vision and reduced dependence on glasses or contact lenses, though it may have a longer recovery period.
