Private Language
Private language refers to the idea of a language that only the individual can understand, such as their own inner thoughts or sensations. Philosophers question whether such a language is possible, since language normally relies on shared meanings and public experiences to communicate. For example, if someone has a unique way of labeling their feelings or sensations, it may be impossible to verify or understand those labels outside that person's mind. This concept raises important questions about how language and meaning are linked to shared social interactions versus internal, personal experiences.
