Private Companies

Private companies are businesses owned by individuals, groups, or other entities rather than the general public. They do not sell shares to the public on stock exchanges. Instead, ownership is held privately, often by founders, family members, or a select group of investors. Private companies can vary in size from small startups to large corporations. They are not required to disclose detailed financial information publicly, which provides more privacy but also limits access to capital compared to public companies. Examples include family-owned businesses and many venture-funded startups.
