
Principle of the Lever
The principle of the lever states that a lever amplifies an input force to move a heavier load by using a fulcrum (pivot point). When you apply force farther from the fulcrum, you generate a greater turning effect (torque), making it easier to lift or move objects. The lever’s effectiveness depends on the ratio of the distances from the fulcrum to the effort and load. Essentially, by adjusting these distances, a lever allows you to accomplish tasks with less effort, exploiting the physics of leverage to make work more efficient.
