Princip's assassination
Princip's assassination refers to the killing of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary on June 28, 1914, by Gavrilo Princip. This event was triggered by nationalist tensions and aspirations for Slavic independence. The assassination in Sarajevo set off a chain reaction of events, leading Austria-Hungary to issue ultimatums to Serbia. When Serbia's response was deemed inadequate, Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia, escalating into World War I. The act was pivotal in shifting regional conflicts into a larger, global war, fundamentally altering the course of history.
