
Princess Norodom Buppha Devi
Princess Norodom Buppha Devi was a prominent Cambodian royal and ballet dancer, renowned for her contributions to classical Khmer dance. Born in 1949, she was a member of the Cambodian royal family and dedicated her life to preserving and promoting traditional Cambodian arts. She trained in classical dance and became a skilled performer and instructor, helping to sustain Cambodia’s cultural heritage, especially after the Khmer Rouge regime tried to destroy it. Later, she served as Cambodia’s Minister of Culture and Fine Arts, contributing to national and international appreciation of Cambodia’s artistic traditions.
