primary cells
Primary cells are cells taken directly from a living organism, such as tissue or blood, and used in research or medical applications. Unlike cells that are grown and modified in the lab over multiple generations, primary cells retain many of the characteristics of their original tissue. They are valuable for studying natural cell behavior, disease processes, and drug responses because they closely reflect how cells function in the body. However, primary cells have a limited lifespan in culture and can be more challenging to work with compared to immortalized cell lines.
