Priam's Treasure

Priam's Treasure refers to a collection of ancient gold and artifacts discovered by archaeologist Heinrich Schliemann in the 1870s at the site of Troy, in modern-day Turkey. Schliemann believed these items belonged to Priam, the legendary king of Troy mentioned in Homer's Iliad. The treasure includes ornate jewelry, gold masks, and various valuable items, suggesting a wealthy civilization. However, the authenticity and origin of the treasure have been debated, with some scholars arguing it doesn’t date to the time of the Trojan War. Today, many of the artifacts are housed in museums, sparking interest in archaeology and ancient history.
