Prevent Duty

The Prevent Duty is a requirement for certain organizations, particularly schools and public bodies in the UK, to identify and help individuals who might be at risk of being involved in extremism or terrorism. Its goal is to promote community cohesion and ensure safety by providing appropriate support and guidance. Staff are trained to recognize signs of radicalization and know how to refer concerns to relevant authorities. The duty balances security with respecting individual rights, aiming to prevent harm while fostering an inclusive environment.
