Pressure Urticaria
Pressure urticaria is a type of hives that occurs when pressure is applied to the skin, such as from tight clothing, sitting, or carrying heavy objects. This pressure triggers an allergic reaction in the body, causing red, itchy welts or swelling in the affected areas, often hours after the pressure is removed. Unlike other forms of hives, which may arise from foods or allergens, pressure urticaria is specifically linked to physical pressure. Symptoms can last from 30 minutes to several hours and are usually managed with antihistamines or avoiding known triggers.
