Press Complaints Commission (UK)
The Press Complaints Commission (PCC) was a voluntary regulatory body in the UK that managed complaints about newspapers and magazines. Its role was to ensure that publishers adhered to standards of accuracy, privacy, and fairness, offering a mechanism for the public to raise concerns. The PCC did not have legal power but encouraged ethical journalism through self-regulation. In 2014, it was replaced by the Independent Press Standards Organisation (IPSO), which now oversees journalistic conduct and addresses complaints on behalf of the public and press stakeholders.
