Press Complaints Commission (PCC)

The Press Complaints Commission (PCC) was a self-regulatory organization for UK newspapers and magazines, established to maintain standards and handle reader complaints about published content. It provided a complaints process allowing the public to seek redress for issues like inaccuracies, invasions of privacy, or unethical reporting. The PCC aimed to encourage responsible journalism through voluntary codes of conduct. In 2014, it was replaced by the Independent Press Standards Organisation (IPSO), which now performs similar oversight roles.
