Press Complaints Commission
The Press Complaints Commission (PCC) was an independent organization in the UK established to regulate newspapers and magazines. Its role was to handle complaints from the public about unfair, inaccurate, or intrusive reporting. The PCC aimed to promote responsible journalism by encouraging media outlets to adhere to professional standards. When someone filed a complaint, the PCC could investigate and, if appropriate, require the publication to issue a correction or apology. It was designed to provide a fair, impartial avenue for addressing grievances and maintaining trust between the press and the public. The PCC was replaced in 2014 by the Independent Press Standards Organisation (IPSO).
