Preoperative imaging techniques
Preoperative imaging techniques are diagnostic tools used before surgery to create detailed pictures of the inside of the body. These images help doctors understand a patient’s condition, locate abnormalities, and plan the most effective surgical approach. Common methods include X-rays, which show bones and dense tissues; CT scans, providing detailed cross-sectional images of organs; MRI scans, which produce high-resolution images of soft tissues; and ultrasounds, using sound waves to visualize structures like the heart or fetus. These techniques improve surgical precision, reduce risks, and enhance patient outcomes.
