Prentice Criteria

Prentice Criteria are conditions used in medical research to determine if a new test or marker can reliably replace an existing diagnostic method. Essentially, they check whether the new test accurately identifies true cases (sensitivity), correctly excludes non-cases (specificity), and provides consistent results linked to the actual disease status. If all criteria are met, the new marker can be considered a valid substitute for the current standard, simplifying diagnosis and improving patient care.
