Premature Infant

A premature infant is a baby born before completing 37 weeks of pregnancy. Since they haven't fully developed, preemies may have lower birth weight and may face challenges with breathing, feeding, temperature regulation, and immune function. Medical care in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) helps support their growth and development. The earlier the birth, the higher the potential risks, but many premature babies recover and develop normally with proper medical attention.
