Preference relations

Preference relations are a way to describe how individuals compare different options or choices. They help us understand which options a person favors or considers better based on their tastes, values, or priorities. For example, someone might prefer tea over coffee, or a longer vacation over a shorter one. These preferences can be consistent (if they prefer A over B and B over C, they also prefer A over C) and are used in decision-making, economics, and psychology to model how choices are made. Essentially, preference relations capture the patterns behind our subjective evaluations of alternatives.
