Precambrian Time

Precambrian Time is the vast stretch of Earth's history before complex life appeared, spanning about 4.6 billion to 541 million years ago. It includes the formation of Earth's crust, the development of the earliest single-celled organisms, and atmospheric changes. Despite its importance, it’s less well-understood because fossils from this period are rare, and the rocks are often difficult to study. Precambrian encompasses one-third of Earth's history and set the stage for the explosion of diverse life forms that followed in the Paleozoic Era.
