Prayer flags
Prayer flags are colorful rectangular cloths traditionally used in Tibetan Buddhism, often hung outdoors. They are inscribed with mantras, prayers, and symbols, believed to promote peace, compassion, and harmony. As the wind moves the flags, it is thought that the positive energies and blessings are carried into the surrounding environment, benefiting all living beings. The flags are usually arranged in five colors representing the five elements—blue (sky/space), white (air), red (fire), green (water), and yellow (earth)—symbolizing balance and harmony. They serve as a visual reminder of spiritual intentions and blessings in daily life.
