
Pratapsingh Maharaj
Pratapsingh Maharaj (c. 1812–1884) was a prominent Hindu leader in Trinidad, known for his efforts to promote Indian culture, religion, and social welfare. As a respected elder and religious figure, he played a key role in preserving Hindu traditions among the Indian community in Trinidad and Tobago. He was also involved in advocacy for the rights of Indians under colonial rule, encouraging education and community development. His leadership helped strengthen cultural identity and social cohesion among the Indian diaspora in the Caribbean during the 19th century.
