Prasthanatraya
Prasthanatraya refers to the three foundational sources of spiritual knowledge in Hindu philosophy: the Shruti (Vedas), Smriti (epics and scriptures like the Ramayana and Mahabharata), and the Sruti (direct, experiential knowledge like meditation). These three together guide seekers towards understanding the nature of reality, the self, and the ultimate truth (Brahman). The Shruti provides divine revelation, Smriti offers interpretative stories and teachings, and experiential knowledge deepens personal realization. Collectively, Prasthanatraya forms a comprehensive framework for spiritual inquiry and understanding within Hinduism.
