Pramipexole
Pramipexole is a medication used primarily to treat Parkinson’s disease and restless legs syndrome. It works by mimicking dopamine—a chemical in the brain that helps control movement and coordination. In Parkinson’s, dopamine levels are low, leading to movement difficulties; pramipexole helps by activating dopamine receptors, improving movement and reducing symptoms like tremors and rigidity. For restless legs syndrome, it alleviates uncomfortable sensations and urges to move the legs. As with all medications, it should be taken under medical supervision to ensure safety and effectiveness.
