Prague Astronomical Clock
The Prague Astronomical Clock, located in the Old Town Square, is a medieval masterpiece that displays astronomical information and time. Installed in 1410, it features intricate mechanisms showing the position of the sun and moon, as well as zodiac signs. Every hour, it performs a mechanical show with moving figures, including the Twelve Apostles. The clock's dials combine a 24-hour clock, an astronomical dial illustrating celestial movements, and a calendar. It serves both as a working clock and a cultural artifact, symbolizing Prague’s historical blending of science, art, and craftsmanship.
