The Postclassic Mesoamerican era (around 900–1521 CE) was marked by the rise of powerful city-states and civilizations such as the Toltecs, Mixtecs, and Aztecs. It featured advancements in art, architecture, and complex social and religious systems. Trade flourished across regions, spreading ideas, goods, and cultural practices. Notable achievements include the Aztec empire’s sophisticated politics, monumental temples, and vibrant markets. This period saw increased militarism and expansion but also challenges like internal conflicts and environmental strains. It ended with Spanish conquest, bringing significant cultural and societal changes to the region.
