Post-Tensioning Systems

Post-tensioning systems are a construction technique that strengthens concrete by embedding steel cables, called tendons, after the concrete has hardened. These tendons are tensioned using hydraulic equipment, compressing the concrete and enhancing its strength and durability. This method allows for longer spans, thinner slabs, and more flexible design options compared to traditional concrete. Post-tensioning is commonly used in bridges, parking garages, and high-rise buildings, providing greater load-bearing capacity and resistance to cracking by pre-stressing the concrete in a controlled manner.
