Post-tensioning
Post-tensioning is a method used to reinforce concrete by actively applying tension to steel tendons or cables after the concrete has hardened. These high-strength steel cables are threaded through ducts within the concrete and then stretched and anchored, creating a compressive force inside the structure. This process reduces cracks, increases load capacity, and allows for longer spans and thinner slabs. It enhances the strength, durability, and flexibility of concrete structures like bridges, buildings, and slabs, making them more resilient and efficient without adding excessive weight.
