POST

POST, which stands for Power-On Self Test, is a process that a computer’s hardware performs automatically each time it is turned on. It checks essential components like the processor, memory, graphics card, and storage to ensure they are working correctly. If any issues are detected, the computer usually alerts you with beeps or error messages. Only after passing these tests does the computer continue to load the operating system, allowing you to use it. Essentially, POST is a diagnostic step to confirm that all critical hardware is functioning properly before the main software runs.
